Film & Literature
Stories shape how we see the world. From the films we watch to the books we return to, storytelling influences culture, identity and imagination. Our Film and Literature courses invite you to look more closely, to read, watch and think with greater depth and confidence. These courses are designed for you who wants to move beyond passive consumption and truly understand the stories that shape culture and stay with us long after the final chapter or closing credits.
Film Studies I

Watch films differently with this course, whether you are a casual viewer or devoted film fan, this course will help you understand how films create meaning and how we, as viewers, interpret what we see. This beginner course is designed for you, who loves the cinema and wants to understand how the films we see are created and why. Together, we will explore cinematography, camera angles, sound and music, acting choices and how films communicate themes, mood and meaning. By the end of the course, you will feel more confident analysing scenes and discussing how films shape our emotional responses and how that translates to box office takings and awards. After completing this course, you can continue onto module 2 or explore our other film courses.
