How to learn any language independently
6 weeks Tue 7pm-9pm
starts: 2nd Jun 2026 fee: £95
Learn how to build your own system for learning languages independently. Gain the skills used by polyglots and serial language learners to help elevate your language learning journey through self study.
Many people want to learn a foreign language but quickly become overwhelmed. There are thousands of apps, textbooks, videos and resources available, yet very little guidance on how to organise them into a clear learning plan. This 6 week course is designed for independent learners who want to take control of their language learning. Instead of teaching one specific language, the course shows you how to build your own effective learning system that can work for any language you want to study. Across the six weeks, you will learn how to structure your learning, choose the right resources, build vocabulary efficiently, develop listening and reading skills; and stay motivated without relying on traditional classes. By the end of the course, you will have created your own personalised language learning plan and the tools needed to continue learning independently. This course is ideal for anyone who wants to begin learning a language but prefers the flexibility of self-study, or who has struggled to stay consistent with apps and online resources. Whether you want to learn Spanish, Korean, Japanese, German or multiple languages at the same time, this course will help you meet your polyglot dreams by supporting you to develop the skills needed to learn effectively on your own.

6 weeks Thu 7pm - 9pm
starts: 4th Jun 2026 fee: £95
Discover how to turn your ideas into compelling stories, characters, and writing you're proud of. Perfect for beginners, learn the foundations of storytelling, character creation, and narrative writing.
Many people want to write, stories, short fiction, personal reflections or even the beginnings of a novel, but they don't know where to start. This six-week course is designed as a welcoming introduction to creative writing for complete beginners. Through practical guidance and writing exercises, you will explore the fundamental elements of storytelling, including characters, dialogue, narrative voice, and scene construction. Rather than focusing on strict rules, the course encourages experimentation and creativity, helping you develop confidence in your own writing style whilst learning techniques used by experienced writers. Across six weeks, you will begin building your own short piece of writing whilst learning how stories are structures and how writers bring ideas to life on the page. By the end of the course, you will have developed a small portfolio of creative writing and a deeper understanding of how to continue developing your writing independently.
