Therapy Session

Understanding
Person- Centred Therapy

6 weeks Thu 7pm-9pm

starts: 10th Sept 2026 fee: £95

This 6 week course explores the therapeutic model created by Carl Rogers and the philosophy behind person-centred practice.

Person-centred therapy is one of the most influential approaches in modern counselling and psychotherapy. Developed by Carl Rogers, the person-centred approach emphasises empathy, authenticity and the belief that individuals have the capacity to grow and change when provided with the right therapeutic environment. This 6 week course offers a clear and accessible introduction to the person-centred approach to counselling, exploring the ideas that have shaped modern therapy, psychotherapy and helping professions. Across 6 live online sessions, this course will explore the history, theory and core concepts of person-centred therapy. Designed for curious learners and those interested in counselling, psychology and personal development, the course focuses on understanding the principles behind the approach rather than training participants to practise as counsellors. Classes take place live online in small groups, allowing learners to explore ideas through discussion, guided examples and tutor-led explanations. The focus is on building a clear understanding of the theory of person-centred counselling and how it shapes the way therapists understand human growth and change. This course is ideal for anyone interested in counselling theory, psychology, personal development or mental health, as well as those considering further study in counselling who would like a solid introduction to the person-centred approach. By the end of the course, you will have a strong foundation in the principles and philosophy of person-centred therapy and a deeper understanding of how this influential approach continues to shape modern counselling practice.
